Models of bodies are called skins. Skins can be connected to an armature (skeleton) to create a rig that can be posed and animated.
The following tutorials show you how to make a simple character skin. The simple model also has the benefit of having a relatively low polygon count (low number of faces). Having a low polygon count means that less computing resources are needed so the model should render quickly and work well in the game engine.
The final tutorial shows how to add a basic armature to the skin.
