Car Racing

The two most important concepts introduced in the tutorials are –

  • Adapting the vehicle wrapper scripts to control two vehicles
  • Splitting the screen so that the user can always see their car

Try to do at least the two tutorials that demonstrate these.

There are of other things to look at, the car turning over or coming off the track, lap counting and general things like winning and a head up display.

Code is used throughout the tutorials so remember to be very careful, the finished files are available to check, if the scripts do not work.

Note: When the tutorials were made, the materials (set up in Cycles) worked in the game engine. With later versions of Blender the materials do not work. There are new versions of the files with simplified materials that should work in the game engine.
